Air Conditioning O-Rings

Air-conditioning O-rings are seals used at the joints and connections in an A/C system. Their job is to prevent refrigerant and compressor oil from leaking where components or pipes connect.

In automotive air conditioning, you commonly find O-rings on connections to the A/C compressor, condenser, evaporator, receiver-drier/accumulator, expansion valve, and refrigerant pipes/hoses.

They need to be made from material compatible with the refrigerant and oil being used. When an A/C connection is opened, it’s generally good practice to replace the O-ring with the correct size/type rather than reuse the old one.
